About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Business Planner to join their team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Business Planner works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts, including repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. The Business Planner programs planning efforts of an organization’s activities with regard to customer projects or programs, determining customer requirements and translating these requirements into organization plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years experience or Master's degree with 4+ years experience (or equivalent combination of training and professional work experience that provides the required knowledge and skills).
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Active Public Trust security clearance
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Demonstrate appropriate People Leadership Characteristics
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience preparing and analyzing data and figures

Nice To Haves

  • Depot level repair experience
  • Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training

Responsibilities

  • Participates in determining objectives and planning of assignment/projects.
  • Work reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Provides supporting information for quoting projects, status, workforce level, equipment availability, and other company capabilities.
  • Represents organization as a contact on contracts or projects.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant program or project matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
  • Extensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts.
  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
