About the position

Moog is looking for a Finance Business Partner who will collaborate with the business to provide insights and analysis that support informed decision making. This position will report into the Commercial Aftermarket Finance Director in East Aurora, NY (full-time on-site). As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for partnering closely with functional leads across the Commercial Aftermarket business in East Aurora to understand the strategic business objectives and contribute to the execution and delivery of that strategy. You will manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, including journal entry preparation, reporting, and review for East Aurora Commercial Aftermarket.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with functional leads across the Commercial Aftermarket business in East Aurora to understand the strategic business objectives and contribute to the execution and delivery of that strategy.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to develop KPIs, set targets, and drive financial accountability into the business.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, including journal entry preparation, reporting, and review for East Aurora Commercial Aftermarket.
  • Collect relevant data to analyze and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, along with commentary resulting from variance analysis from prior periods, plan or budget.
  • Support the preparation of the forecasts for the business through financial modeling that can simulate different scenarios to predict financial trends.
  • Build standard analytical reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Collaborate and work in partnership with other finance areas in the development and continual improvement of communications, processes and initiatives.
  • Assist in the budgeting process.
  • Ad hoc special project support that may include business case development, net present value evaluation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Present findings and suggestions to functional leaders through reports, presentations and meetings using effective communication skills.
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities to eliminate inefficient or redundant activities and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience in the areas of finance, accounting, and/or auditing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel: maintaining and creating complex spreadsheets, performing complex functions, creating financial models etc.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and adapt to quick changes in priorities.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer-centric relationships.
