The Business Operations Supervisor (Planning - Code Enforcement) is responsible for managing and overseeing the regulatory administration and enforcement of the city business registration and license ordinance. This role includes coordinating and approving the issuance, renewal, and enforcement of licenses, ensuring compliance with regulations, and reviewing business registrations in accordance with the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO).

  • Manage and oversee the regulatory administration and enforcement of the city business registration/license ordinance.
  • Coordinate and approve the issuing and renewing of licenses.
  • Ensure businesses are operating in compliance with regulations.
  • Review and approve business registration/license applications according to IDO allowances.
  • Supervise lower-level staff and coordinate their work.
  • Respond to public inquiries and requests professionally.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in business registration/license field, business analytics, public administration, or code and zoning enforcement.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or ability to obtain by the date of hire.
  • Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from the date of hire.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Experience in government operations and services related to business registration and licensing.
  • Understanding of principles and practices of building inspection and plan review.
  • Ability to perform site investigations for compliance with codes and standards.
