About The Position

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states. The Strategy & BizOps team drives and executes against the company’s go-to-market strategy. We leverage quantitative and qualitative analysis to create long-term business strategies and help execute on Waymo’s commercial deployment. The team is analytically driven, with a proactive mentality, focused on finding and delivering on high impact projects. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Director of Business Operations.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in a highly analytical and strategic role, such as:
  • Management Consulting
  • Investment Banking
  • Strategy & Business Operations (BizOps)
  • Corporate Strategy
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical modeling skills (e.g., advanced Excel / Google Sheets, advanced Google Slides) and the ability to build data-driven business cases
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, particularly to senior leadership
  • Can roll up their sleeves and get things done

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-growth technology or mobility
  • Prior strategic / analytical experience in a tech company (chief of staff, bizops / strategy)
  • Experience with commercialization / go-to-market strategy (e.g., pricing, partner strategy)

Responsibilities

  • Be a foundational member for the Waymo Bizops team and you will be responsible for helping to build and execute our go-to-market (GTM) strategy, tackling the most complex analytical and operational challenges
  • Analyze ambiguous problems, build processes from the ground up, and lead cross-functional projects that bring our GTM strategy to life
  • Conduct deep-dive market analysis, competitive landscaping, and quantitative modeling to support strategic decisions, including opportunity prioritization, pricing scenarios, and making difficult trade-offs
  • Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional initiatives by collaborating effectively with Product, Partnerships, Policy, Regulatory, Operations, and many other teams
  • Define, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the ride-hailing business, translating data into actionable insights for leadership
