The Global Wafer Operations group is responsible for managing the complex business of acquiring and deploying silicon wafers, a strategic resource for the company. We have a challenging career opportunity for an individual with the right mix of technical and business acumen. As a Business Operations manager in the Global Wafer Operations (GWO) group you would be responsible for the following areas:

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technology or business related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor substrate specifications, applications and measurement methods required.
  • Minimum of 2 years semiconductor industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with powerful analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute sourcing strategy – Work with our team and our indirect materials sourcing group to solicit, analyze and make recommendations on all substrate purchasing decisions in support of our internal customers’ development needs. Identify new sources of supply, evaluate supplier capabilities and negotiate supplier pricing.
  • Manage the product portfolio – Help manage and optimize the substrate specifications we purchase so that all technology needs are met while managing the lowest number of different wafer specifications. Help customers define their requirements for new applications. Identify and implement new products.
  • Manage operational execution – Ensure that all wafer orders globally are fulfilled in a timely manner by matching demand with supply within our wafer ordering database. Work with team to identify and maintain the correct types and amounts of material on hand at all times to fulfill these orders. Manage supplier schedules, expectations and non-conformances. Monitor funding to prevent business interruption.
  • Provide technical support – Answer customer questions about wafer products and provide guidance on which products would be the most cost effective for their applications.
  • Improve the Process – Provide leadership to drive business process improvements.
