About the position
The Business Operations Coordinator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is responsible for overseeing all administrative support and office management needs within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). This role requires excellent independent judgment to manage a diversified workload and workforce, ensuring that departmental and university mission objectives are met. The coordinator will manage financial record keeping, budget reviews, hiring processes, payroll, travel functions, and equipment management, while also training and supervising staff to provide quality customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all administrative support and office management needs for the Department of Public Safety.
- Manage financial record keeping, budget reviews, and departmental payroll.
- Coordinate travel functions and equipment management.
- Train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate office personnel and student workers.
- Ensure quality customer service and lead a culture of transparency within the department.
- Function as the main administrative contact for the department and coordinate with various university departments and outside organizations.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 6 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience, including some supervisory/management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Professional level verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Adobe Developer.
