About The Position

The Business Operations Associate at AARP plays a crucial role in supporting the Legal Counsel for the Elderly by participating in various administrative activities, projects, and programs. Requirements

  • Associate's degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in non-profit logistics, grant administration, fundraising, or similar support roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management, especially in digital-based initiatives.
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated understanding of grant cycle processes and risk management.
  • Experience working in administrative, fundraising, or finance roles in the non-profit sector.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar databases.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and prepares accounting entries for expense reports and budget transfers.
  • Reviews and audits financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Responds to inquiries from internal clients and resolves discrepancies.
  • Provides administrative support to senior leadership within the business unit.
  • Prepares budget reports, schedules meetings, reserves conference rooms, and makes travel arrangements.
  • Assists with various division-wide or enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Conducts research, summarizes data, and creates presentations.
  • Tracks budget and project activities, organizes electronic records, and processes various forms.
  • Analyzes and develops reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Evaluates existing business processes to identify improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates and monitors processes and projects for timely completion and compliance.
  • Troubleshoots problems and suggests alternatives for efficiency.
  • Ensures adherence to internal and external quality standards.
