About The Position

This position will also offer support to staff, assist the Business Office Supervisor with tasks, and look for ways to enhance our customer experience. Requirements

  • Three years of experience performing administrative or clerical duties, including direct customer service and cash handling
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Candidates must be flexible and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must complete Animal Handling (Green Level) training within 90 days of start

Responsibilities

  • Administers direction, guidance, and timely coaching for Business Office Specialists in the performance of their duties and attendance, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive, and educational. Holds the team to the same standards
  • Helps customers with a variety of transactions, including animal intake, lost pet services, dog licensing, pet resource referrals, including MCACC diversion services, and general inquiries (in person and online)
  • Facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Business Office, including supply needs, scheduling, accurate data entry, and opening and closing duties
  • Assists in the development and delivery of training to new employees. Provides routine audits of teamwork and retraining as necessary
  • Conducts research utilizing multiple tools and communication platforms to reunite lost animals with their owners. Keeps animal records up to date with findings
  • Conducts financial transactions by collecting fees from customers and balancing a cash drawer daily
  • Runs daily reports including but not limited to cash balancing, jurisdictions, kennel verification, kennel inventory, field and owner intakes, due outs, fees by type, hold and notify, missing animals, and other auditing reports. Takes appropriate actions to ensure timely animal movement and reunifications
  • Reviews daily payment transactions to ensure accuracy and provides the Manager and Finance with discrepancy justifications and reconciliation
  • Conducts animal handling as needed for intake and reunification services, including microchip scans
