About The Position

This is not a hybrid position, employee is exepcted to work in office The Manager of the Business Office oversees all financial operations of the facility. Responsibilities include supervision, reviewing and analyzing accounts receivable/collections processes, accounts payable processes, payroll, month-end close, procurement, and contract management. The role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, preventing fiscal rule violations, and providing financial guidance to staff.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position
  • A combination of related education (coursework requires 27 semester hours completed in accounting or auditing) and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned, equal to eight (8) years
  • Current, valid licensure as a CPA by the Colorado Board of Accountancy will count for six (6) years of the requirement
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, Colorado Driver's License
  • CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services),Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults - Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel and Access
  • Demonstrated experience working with CORE (Advantage)
  • Demonstrated experience working with Payroll (CPPS System)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with public-sector and/or government accounting experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with program accounting principles and practices with human-services related programs

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts receivable collections process, accounts payable process, financial analysis and reporting, fixed assets, resident banking, petty cash, and donation accounts
  • Overseeing/completing regular billings for Medicare, Medicaid, Hospice, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Managed Care/Insurance and private payers
  • Reviewing VA Per Diem Billing, approving Donation Account and Trust Fund reconciliations, and overseeing the management of these funds
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on budgets internally and to the Division Accounting teams within allocated timeframes
  • Ensure all financial reports and processes are in place for the three funds: operating, patient benefit, and trust fund
  • Oversee all procurement and contract activities, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), documented quotes, personal services waivers, sole source justifications, and purchase orders
  • Oversee Accounts Payable input and track all procurement requests in EClearance and CORE
  • Conducts quarterly vendor compliance reviews, including meetings with department managers working directly with vendors
  • Meets with staff at least monthly and as needed to review aging, expenditures, contracts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and timekeeping issues affecting the department and facility
  • Provide cross-training to ensure staff proficiency across various financial functions
  • Serves as the liaison between the business office and other departments
  • Ensures all administrative office functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Cemetery Financial Oversight: Ensuring proper financial management and reporting for the Homelake cemetery
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor or Appointing Authority
