About The Position

The Business Manager - Production at General Motors is responsible for implementing and executing established business processes within production operations. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years previous manufacturing experience.
• 1-2 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures, manufacturing processes, and management systems as they relate to production operations.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five or more years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of quality standards and communicate department quality goals.
• Conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results.
• Recommend solutions to problems and meet schedule and quality requirements.
• Participate in the selection of new employees and hold responsibility for their training, development, and evaluation.
• Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing principles.
• Implement divisional and corporate policies, safety, and good housekeeping practices.
• Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in their responsibilities.
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts within the assigned area.
• Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements.
