About The Position

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a Business Manager to join the Infusion/ Oncology department. The primary responsibilities of this position is to provide financial oversite of operations to ensure appropriate revenue capture for all services related to infusion/ oncology. This will include oversite of authorizations, coding, and billing for both direct and related ancillary services. This position will lead members of the team related to authorizations, grants, and specialty care to ensure efficient operations of the department. Must have financial and analytical skills to deep dive into reimbursements for high cost medications used within the department. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage teams and drive toward a common purpose.

  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately communicate and integrate with teams and constituencies across the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft and database software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, policies, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical workflow and healthcare- based information and technology.
  • Attention to detail, ability to meet timeline expectations, and completion of projects.
  • Ability to analyze financial information of department and accurately budget the revenue and expense of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the financial performance of the infusion center, including the appropriate capture of direct and indirect services, drugs and lab services within the department.
  • Ensures the appropriate workflow and training of staff to capture coding billing and other third-party payor information in an efficient manner that supports operations.
  • Liaison between providers and other departments including leadership.
  • Remains up to date on coding and billing requirements and changes related to infusion services.
  • Liaison between staff and providers as well as the liaison to Operations Director and organization leadership.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Pharmacy, Revenue Cycle, Finance, and IT and verifying all elements of the CDM and HCPCS are accurate to ensure charge capture for medications and services provided within the department.
  • Responsible for ensuring the documentation required from nursing staff is completed timely and accurate according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensures collaborative working relationships with department directors, staff, providers, and patients.
  • Collaborates directly with the Director of Clinic Operations to develop and execute strategic objectives for Infusion Services, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Coordinates with IT and Finance to validate data sources and reconcile system discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.
  • Performs regular workflow reviews and works with staff to introduce efficiency improvements that ensure compliance and maintain high quality standards
  • Works in partnership with Revenue Cycle leadership to address persistent payer concerns and engages in payer meetings as necessary to resolve systemic challenges.
  • Identifies operational risks related to high-cost drug management, charge capture dependencies, and workflow bottlenecks, elevating issues promptly to the Director of Clinic Operations.
  • Supports a high-performance team culture by fostering collaboration, communication, and accountability within the authorization and grant teams.
  • Provides operational oversight of clinic support staff, including Admitting Clerks, CMA’s, CNA’s, and RN’s, ensuring adequate daily staffing coverage, adherence to attendance and scheduling guidelines, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Partners with the Director of Operations to analyze and report financial outcomes to organizational leadership.
  • Partners with the Director of Operations in the development and oversight of the department budget.
