About The Position

The Business Management Pathway Instructor will design and deliver a rigorous, student-centered Career & Technical Education (CTE) program that equips scholars with foundational and advanced knowledge in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial literacy. This role centers real-world application through project-based learning, culminating in a junior-year capstone and a senior-year internship/externship experience. The ideal candidate is committed to developing scholars as critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and future leaders prepared to navigate and shape the global economy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid state teaching certification required (CTE/Business or secondary certification) or eligibility for certification
  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate student-centered, project-based learning experiences
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills; ability to build rapport and collaborate across disciplines
  • Passion for working with young people and commitment to a diverse, inclusive school community
  • Strong technology skills and experience integrating digital tools into instruction
  • Commitment to The SEED Foundation’s mission and beliefs

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred
  • Industry experience (3+ years) in business, entrepreneurship, hospitality, tourism, or related fields strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and finance
  • Design learning experiences that integrate project-based learning (PBL) and real-world business applications
  • Develop a vertically aligned pathway experience from 10th–12th grade
  • Incorporate industry trends, case studies, and simulations into instruction
  • Prepare students to demonstrate mastery through a Junior Capstone Project aligned to authentic business challenges
  • Support students in securing and succeeding in Senior Year Internships/Externships
  • Build students’ professional competencies: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and agency
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure students are progressing toward mastery
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations
  • Coordinate guest speakers, field experiences, and mentorship opportunities
  • Align pathway experiences with workforce expectations and OSSE CTE standards
  • Collaborate with the CTE Lead to support internship/externship placements, employer communication, and on-site supervision logistics
  • Collaborate with school leadership to build and refine the Business Management pathway
  • Support student recruitment and pathway awareness efforts
  • Maintain documentation aligned to OSSE CTE program expectations
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using student outcome and employer/partner feedback and implement continuous improvements
  • Attend faculty, department, and CTE meetings; participate in professional development and required trainings
  • Support school events (family nights, exhibitions, portfolio presentations) and occasional evening or weekend activities
  • Adhere to the professional and ethical standards as outlined in the SEED PCS Staff Handbook
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership
