The position involves managing, directing, and evaluating assigned staff while developing and overseeing employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control. The role includes compiling and reviewing timesheets, approving and processing employee concerns, and counseling or disciplining as appropriate. Additionally, the position assists with or completes employee performance appraisals, directs work, acts as a liaison between employees and management, and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures. The individual will also organize, prioritize, and assign work to meet objectives, ensuring that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete assigned work. Monitoring the status of work in progress and inspecting completed work is essential, as is providing progress and activity reports to management and assisting with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate. The role also includes overseeing the issuance of occupational and alcohol licenses, auditing applications, payments, and accounts, and ensuring proper classifications for businesses. The individual will manage accounts receivables, payments received for taxes, licenses, or other County services, and supervise the receipt and collection of tax payments. Customer service functions are also a key responsibility, ensuring staff is trained to assist the public and respond to questions or complaints. The position requires managing monthly reports, tracking and reviewing the division budget, and overseeing IT/Hansen on system upgrades. The individual will attend court hearings and meetings with other departments on special account cases and work with legal to prepare documentation for court.
