About The Position

The Mortgage Business Intelligence & Analytics team oversees all activities and functions involved with the company’s Business Intelligence platform, giving mortgage company business leaders access to reliable, actionable data to better manage and understand the business and drive company growth. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst to focus on the development of our Power BI reporting environment. The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for creating impactful dashboards and reports which deliver meaningful data to our business leaders in order to achieve organizational goals. This role will do more than compile tabular data; this role will have an opportunity to use data to tell a story, and help our team, as well as business leaders, derive meaningful insights. The Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for managing highly visible reporting such as recurring executive reports and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a data or business intelligence focused role.
  • 5+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI.
  • 3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining.
  • 3+ years’ experience collecting and documenting business requirements.
  • Mortgage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report Development (50%) - Meet with business leaders/users to understand their needs and requirements, build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language, migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model, automate/streamline manual processes.
  • Regulatory Reporting (20%) - Ongoing monitoring of exceptions, including engagement with business partners to resolve data discrepancies, collection and curation of data points from business partners, execution of regulatory data preparation processes, documented validation of datasets against system of record.
  • Semantic Model Maintenance (10%) - Update semantic models to support new reporting needs, monitor model efficiency and implement changes as needed to optimize performance.
  • Report Maintenance (10%) - Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed.
  • Documentation (5%) - Document report development processes for business contingency purposes, maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships, maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience, maintain reporting changelog.
  • Team Support & Other Duties (5%) - Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as needed.
