About The Position

The Business Intelligence / Report Developer turns raw data into actionable insights for business users and translates requirements into effective data models and visualizations. Responsible for new report development and maintenance and support for existing reporting solutions, this position involves extensive collaboration with the development team and end users to design, document, develop, test and deliver effective and efficient business solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence and reporting tools, coupled with a strong analytical mindset.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in MS SQL Server, Reporting Services, PowerBI
  • 3+ years of experience creating advanced level calculations on data sets using DAX functions in Power BI
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or other related degree
  • Demonstrates experience in data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience working in the banking, mortgage or finance industry
  • Excellent critical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Effective time management
  • Team player, flexible, detail oriented, self-starter

  • Prior work experience in financial, accounting, or banking industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the portfolio of existing reporting solutions, establishing and implementing a prioritized upgrade schedule to enforce current design and development standards.
  • Define and document a consistent framework for producing high-quality, impactful and maintainable reporting solutions.
  • Work with business users to gather, define, and document requirements for new data and reporting initiatives.
  • Design, build and maintain comprehensive Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, including SSRS reports, Power BI dashboards and paginated reports, and ad-hoc queries.
  • Partner with the IT Infrastructure team to deploy solutions, configure security and provide technical application support.
  • Manage and maintain all objects within the change control management systems (Team Foundation Server and GIT).
  • Establish and document standards for the development, testing and deployment lifecycle, ensuring all solutions are efficient, scalable and supportable.
  • Conduct training and provide technical support to business power users and subject matter experts, empowering them to effectively leverage data models and reporting tools.
  • Proactively identify, communicate and resolve issues related to data quality and reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with both internal teams and business stakeholders.
