About The Position

Volunteers of America (VOA) is a faith-based, nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. The VOA network includes more than 16,000 full-time professionals empowering 1.5 million people annually through our 29 affiliates in 46 states. We provide hundreds of service programs, including those for seniors and people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and those recovering from addiction. VOA is one of the nation's most comprehensive human services charities, offering programs for communities, individuals and families. VOA is seeking a Business Intelligence Intern to support our Affiliate Relations department. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the Affiliate Relations team and will work on projects relating to business intelligence reporting, assessing climate risk, disaster preparedness and more. The ideal candidate must be flexible, self-directed and possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit with excellent writing and communication skills, good time management and willing to learn new areas. This position is full-time (up to 30 hours per week) and allows for On-Site or Hybrid work schedules. The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates working towards a degree in Public Health, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Work, Economics or Sociology are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update VOA's Affordable Housing portfolio
  • Link local affiliate program services data with other data sources, including federal administrative data on homelessness and housing services
  • Develop business intelligence tools that document the size and scope of VOA Affiliate services
  • Performance climate risk and operational preparedness assessments of VOA Affordable Housing properties
