About The Position
As a Business Intelligence Engineer intern at Amazon, you will engage in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for building small- to mid-size business intelligence (BI) solutions. This includes creating data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, and analyses, or components of larger solutions to address business questions using data. You will work with well-defined requirements to construct solutions that facilitate effective, data-driven business decisions, ensuring that the end product is delivered on schedule. Your role will involve creating and populating data structures using various schema definition languages such as DDL, SDL, XSD, and RDF. You will be expected to write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects, while also automating manual processes wherever possible. Utilizing industry-standard analytics visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, and PowerBI, you will deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, employing statistical methods such as t-tests and Chi-squared tests as needed. In addition to building BI solutions, you will troubleshoot data, analyses, and code, researching root causes, proposing solutions, and taking ownership of the next steps for their resolution.
