Business Intelligence Developer

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join their team in Birmingham, AL. This role is pivotal in conducting both primary and secondary strategic business research and analysis, particularly focusing on healthcare utilization, trend management, and quality improvement. The Business Intelligence Developer will interact closely with business users and the data team to gather requirements effectively. This collaboration is essential for conceptualizing and communicating strategic solutions that will drive results from corporate healthcare analytics. The successful candidate will support strategic business decisions by providing recommendations on the most appropriate data sources, tools, visualizations, and delivery methods to leverage data assets effectively. Data processing, cleanup, analysis, metadata management, and report distribution are also key responsibilities of this position. The Business Intelligence Developer will implement a report distribution mechanism by analyzing reporting requirements and providing scheduling solutions for the systems in use. Establishing standards and best practices for dashboards and related technologies is crucial for the success of the project. Furthermore, the developer will provide insights and recommendations on various features of BI tools and how they can be utilized to address business challenges effectively.
