The Business Intelligence Developer partners with the business to transform data into critical information and knowledge. This role requires a fundamental understanding of healthcare and/or data and analytics to develop reporting and analytic solutions, leveraging knowledge of primary source data (e.g., electronic health records, claims) and workflows. The developer builds relationships with users for direct data consumption or integration with other systems, and promotes data literacy by educating and training customers to use data for analysis and exploration. Under minimal supervision, the developer designs, codes, configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents, and maintains programs, adhering to development best practices and quality standards. Key responsibilities include gathering business requirements, translating them into detailed technical specifications, and ensuring proposed applications align with architectural design and business needs. The role involves close collaboration with other Business Intelligence Developers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and internal/external customers. Essential functions include designing, coding, configuring, testing, debugging, deploying, documenting, and maintaining self-service reporting assets. The developer translates business program needs into technical solutions using visuals, data sources, metrics, and automation, utilizing various tools such as EHR reporting tools (Clarity, Caboodle, Epic Registries, Epic Extract Framework, Custom Radar SQL metrics, Data Links, Predictive Model configuration), cloud reporting systems (Snowflake), and EHR agnostic tools (SSIS, GoAnywhere, Tableau, PowerBI). The position provides analytics to understand business problems, offers independent troubleshooting, maintenance, support, oversight, and technical guidance, and possesses working knowledge of workflows across multiple business areas to support data development, analytics, and quality improvement. The developer performs duties in conformance with digital services standards, may initiate new standards, participates in agile ceremonies, and collaborates with data engineers and architects to verify data models.
