About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst II to support data-driven decision-making within a growing community bank with approximately $25 billion in assets. This role is ideal for a professional with 2–4 years of experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about leveraging data to enhance financial performance, customer experience, and regulatory compliance. The BI Analyst II will partner with business units such as Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Finance, Risk, and Operations to deliver insights, reporting, and dashboards that support strategic and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or data visualization.
  • Strong experience with Power BI (dashboards, DAX, Power Query).
  • Strong SQL skills with experience working in relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate and reconcile data.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services / banking environment.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts (star schema, fact/dimension modeling).
  • Experience with SSRS, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, dbt, or Azure Synapse.
  • Understanding of data governance tools (Collibra, data catalogs, lineage tools).
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile environments (Azure DevOps preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI (or comparable BI platforms).
  • Build and maintain datasets, semantic models, and measures (DAX).
  • Design reports that are visually intuitive, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Analyze business performance trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Support KPI development, metric definitions, and standard reporting frameworks.
  • Assist business partners in interpreting data and validating results.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for extracting and transforming data.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to resolve data quality issues.
  • Gather requirements through meetings, interviews, and documentation.
  • Translate business questions into technical reporting requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress clearly.
  • Create and maintain documentation for reports, data models, definitions, and refresh schedules.
  • Support data governance efforts including consistent metric definitions and report certification practices.
  • Follow SDLC / change control processes in regulated environments.
  • Monitor scheduled report refreshes and resolve refresh failures.
  • Provide production support for BI reporting solutions.
  • Participate in on-call or incident response rotation if required.
