About The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst (Intermediate) at USAA plays a crucial role in supporting Claims operations by transforming data into actionable insights and visualizations. This position involves collaboration with decision science analysts and business stakeholders to lead analytic initiatives using various tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Python. The analyst will analyze business problems, identify trends, and craft specifications for reports based on business needs, contributing to the overall growth of the Business Intelligence capability within the P&C Claims Analytics organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field or 4 years of related work experience in statistics or quantitative analytics.
  • 2 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience in the respective industry.
  • Solid understanding of business intelligence platforms and SQL-based languages.
  • Ability to build business knowledge through meaningful partnerships.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of Property & Casualty Claims experience.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Python, and data prep/transformation.
  • Excellent presentation and PowerPoint skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in capturing business requirements by partnering with customers to define the business problem and data needs.
  • Utilizes understanding of multiple data structures and sources to support the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions.
  • Develops partnerships and works closely with IT execution teams on analytic infrastructures and data engineering efforts.
  • Applies data visualization best practices to identify and interpret trends or patterns.
  • Acts as a trusted data visualization advisor to stakeholders to drive business value.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified and controlled.
