As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst I, you will manage concurrent analytical projects and be involved in project work that requires some consultation with organizational and functional departments and translate simple requirements into analytical applications and solutions that inform business cases. You will design, develop, and maintain basic to intermediate BI solutions using technologies such as Tableau, Excel, Python, and Alteryx. You will function as a technical resource for reporting and analytics projects, be familiar with data sources used in day-to-day operations, and respond quickly to ad hoc problems. You will provide advice for analytics projects, including utilizing best practices for the design and development of analytical solutions and data visualizations, as well as reviewing and contributing to technical documentation to ensure accurate development of reporting solutions. You will assist in managing the Tableau server reporting environment including data sources, security, and subscriptions. You will bring data to life through data storytelling and advanced data visualization techniques. You will actively engage in the Port of Seattle’s business intelligence community by preparing materials for user group sessions and attending conferences or training sessions to bring new ideas to the organization. Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work weekend on-call coverage as needed. Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion. Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State. Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
