About The Position

The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) II translates customer business needs into effective, data-driven solutions. This role engages stakeholders in meaningful discussions to understand the purpose and context behind data requests and applies appropriate technical tools to deliver actionable insights. The BID II provides consultative services in response to service requests, including those submitted via email, and leads or stewards the use of data solutions to help change, measure, and drive key business processes and coordinated clinical initiatives. The role focuses on developing interactive data solutions that support performance improvement and informed decision-making. As a customer relationship manager, the BID II builds strong partnerships and high levels of engagement with clients across the enterprise and health system. The position requires frequent communication with a broad audience ranging from unit managers to executives and board members. The BID II gathers information from multiple sources, analyzes and synthesizes findings, and presents clear conclusions to support organizational goals. This position involves access to confidential and protected information. The employee must comply with all applicable policies and procedures related to information use, disclosure, privacy, and system security. Annual mandatory training and compliance with privacy and security requirements are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant work experience required
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for experience
  • Relevant Work Experience Includes: Healthcare experience
  • EMR system experience (Epic preferred)
  • Data analytics experience
  • Minimum Job Experience: Two (2) years of healthcare data analysis experience with in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations required
  • An advanced degree may substitute for healthcare data analysis experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Job-Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work across multiple departments within the enterprise/health system
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with large relational databases and data warehousing, including the ability to query databases using SQL or similar languages
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting
  • Proven ability to work accurately with large data sets (millions of records)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand format
  • Employees in this position may operate vehicles for assigned business purposes as a non-frequent driver
  • Registrations, certifications, and/or licenses preferred or to be achieved within six (6) months of hire, depending on area of focus as determined by management: Cogito Fundamentals
  • Cogito Access, Revenue, or Clinical Data Model (Proficiency level or above)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with report writing and data visualization tools preferred, including: Epic Cogito Suite (RADAR, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer)
  • SAP Business Objects (WebI)
  • Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and visualization tools
