About The Position

Hodgson Russ LLP, a regional law firm with two hundred plus attorneys in ten offices, is seeking a Business Intake Analysis to join our busy Office of General Counsel team, resident in the Buffalo office. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the screening of potential client engagements in accordance with the firm's risk management procedures and policies. Essential responsibilities include, but not limited to: Gather and analyze financial information, regulatory and litigation histories, and recent news from external corporate and governmental databases (such as Dun and Bradstreet, TLO, Bloomberg, Lexis, SEC, etc.) from a risk management and due diligence perspective. Assess financial viability of potential new matters through external corporate research and analysis. Run special searches to identify potential risk management or business issues. Participate in special projects involving new business intake best practices and risk management initiatives. Conduct conflict checks to assess whether a conflict of interest exists, maintain the accuracy of the conflicts database, and assist with other research and administrative tasks. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to meet deadlines, identify and anticipate needs, and follow through. Bachelor’s degrees in business, legal studies, communications or a related field, with three years’ full-time work experience in an administrative role in a professional office environment, preferably within business intake, conflicts, or risk/compliance. At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual salary range for this position, if the successful applicant is based in Buffalo is $49,237 to $60,450. Requirements
