In this position you can expect to work on site at least 3 days per week at the Denver International Airport. Primary responsibilities are insurance program management, claims management and contractual risk transfer duties. Secondarily, you will support the DEN Risk Manager regarding all aspects of the enterprise-wide risk management program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of full performance, professional level experience overseeing and administering functional or operational aspects of fiscal business operations.
  • One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment.
  • By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
  • Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
  • Applicants for employment with the City and County of Denver must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the insurance program administration, including but not limited to: program analysis and procurement, document control management, accounting management and reporting, communications with internal and external stakeholders, inspection/investigation oversight and response, program training and orientation delivery, claims management, audit, and data analytics and program performance reporting.
  • Manage contractual risk transfer processes, including setting and assigning minimum insurance requirements for all DEN contracts, and maintaining compliance with Part 230 of the Airport Rules and Regulations.
  • Spearhead Risk Management Information System (RMIS) optimization.
  • Conduct studies and research projects within the scope of the functional area, prepare comprehensive reports that reflect findings and conclusions, recommend solutions in areas that require attention or change, and implement approved recommendations.
  • Develop and administer contracts, which includes drafting RFPs, forming committees for evaluation and selection of applications, monitor expenditures, evaluate performance, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Support DEN Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (R/OCIP) and Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP).
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that impact business operations and administrative activities at the division level, provide advice and interpretative information pertaining to current practices, evaluate business processes and impact of change, and make recommendations for modifications to functional area.
  • Support project management for various department initiatives.
  • Manage specific fiscal activities and projects in the development of short-term and long-range planning initiatives for the functional area, and serve as a liaison with departmental officials, community groups, and other units.
