We have one of the largest business immigration practices in the United States; our immigration practice group comprises experienced, dedicated immigration lawyers and paralegals who work with domestic and international corporations and businesses to develop appropriate strategies to facilitate the international transfer of skilled employees. Our Washington, D.C. office has an opportunity for an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to join their fast-paced business immigration practice! Under attorney supervision, the immigration paralegal is responsible for preparing and filing high-volume PERM applications. The paralegal compiles and analyzes case facts, drafts correspondence, maintains and organizes client documentation, and communicates directly with multiple attorneys. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where we have a physical office. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $76,150 and $95,200. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $69,440 and $105,100. In accordance with California’s amended labor code, as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $84,080 and $105,100. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $79,920 and $99,900. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this D.C. position is between $79,920 and $99,900. In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $71,680 and $89,600. In accordance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $79,920 and $99,900. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • 5+ years of employment-based Immigration Paralegal experience required, specifically, complete-cycle PERM experience, preferably in a large law firm environment.
  • Successful candidates will possess strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work independently toward team goals.
  • Outstanding organizational skills are required.
  • Be able to multitask and work independently toward team goals.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, INSZoom, and document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced analysis to identify legal and procedural issues relating to immigrant status.
  • Perform initial review and analysis of prospective PERM cases, flagging issues for attorney review.
  • Assist in drafting minimum requirements and job descriptions for PERM roles.
  • Review and file Prevailing Wage Requests for PERM.
  • Conduct labor market testing for PERM, including drafting advertisements to be sent to ad agents and posting job orders.
  • Draft and review Form ETA 9089 for PERM filings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for corporate clients concerning PERM cases.
  • Draft and review employment verification letters to be used in I-140 filings.
  • Draft forms and assemble documents for PERM-based I-140 filings, as well as I-485, I-765, and I-131 applications.
  • Oversee approximately 60 PERM cases independently, with responsibility for tracking deadlines and prioritizing cases.
