Requirements

  • U.S. JD or LLM required
  • Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association
  • 2-3 years of experience at Associate level
  • Expanded practical understanding of immigration law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines
  • Dedication to exceptional client service

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands

Responsibilities

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided.
  • Develop case strategies, including researching, drafting, reviewing, counseling clients and triaging initiations.
  • Identify and solve escalations and areas of underperformance.
  • Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, case processing issues, and case strategy.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
  • Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non-immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, within SLAs/team protocols and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
  • Directly or indirectly supervise junior Associates and other staff, providing mentoring and coaching while proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
  • Regularly seek out and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization with processes, products, or services.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.
  • Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.
  • Other duties as required.
