About The Position
The Philadelphia Water Department’s mission is to provide the greater Philadelphia region with integrated drinking water, wastewater stormwater services to protect public health; protect our environment; support sustainable growth of the City and to continue to be America’s most innovative utility. The Water Agency Section of OIT provides IT services to the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) and is led by the Water IT Director. There are four divisions within OIT-Water: Business Engagement, Infrastructure Support, Application Development, and Cyber Security services. The Business Engagement team is responsible for supporting PWD’s mission by assisting business units with prioritizing/managing IT projects, preparation of project charters, business use cases, and helping PWD units identify objectives, processes, and workflows to be updated during projects and ensure the delivery of end-to-end solutions. The team works closely with vendors, PWD business units, and staff in the Office of Innovation and Technology, so maintaining relationships with these groups is essential. The Business Engagement Team Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the group. Task delegation, ensuring team members receive proper training, hiring and onboarding new staff, and performance management are also responsibilities for this position.
