This role is not a traditional Business Analyst position. The Business Engagement Manager will provide oversight and leadership rather than performing day-to-day business analysis for project teams. This position is responsible for managing others, guiding intake activities and supporting one or more programs through structured governance and process. This position is in person in Austin, Texas and not eligible for telework. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is currently seeking an individual to fulfill a full-time position on the Business Engagement team. The position reports to the Director of the IT Business Engagement within the Information Technology Services division. This position will perform highly advanced (senior-level) business and systems analysis; serve as an advocate for the for the business stakeholders as they submit their IT requests; conduct research related to the agency program IT requests; coordinate the gathering, development, and documentation of business cases and technology requirements; engage in strategic planning with program customers, review and assess business processes; and manage a team of business analysts. Additionally, this position will participate in legislative analysis and fiscal note activities related to legislative initiatives affecting program areas’ technology requirements. The position will train others and assign and monitor the work of Business Analysts; and engage in other duties as assigned.
