Reporting to the SVP, North America, the Business Director will lead Croda's pharmaceutical business in the region, with full accountability for Sales, Business Development, and Marketing. The role is responsible for shaping and executing a regional growth strategy, delivering revenue and gross margin targets, expanding the commercial pipeline, and identifying strategic opportunities, including partnerships and acquisitions.   • Develop, communicate, and implement a 3-5 year regional business strategy aligned with Croda's global Pharma priorities and regional SVP direction
  • Foster a strong business development environment by driving innovation and building a high-conversion commercial pipeline year over year
  • Full P&L accountability for the region, delivering short-term revenue and margin targets, and managing associated cost centers and commercial expenses
  • Build and lead high-performing sales and marketing teams focused on excellence, customer centricity, and achievement of strategic KPIs
  • Oversee regional pricing strategy and forecasting, ensuring working capital is effectively managed and financial targets are met
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, and ensure alignment across customer service, sales, technical (R&D), and marketing teams to deliver exceptional service
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using digital, AI, and data tools to enhance internal processes and access to key market and operational information
  • Develop business cases for CAPEX investments and contribute to the five-year capital planning process in line with long-term strategy
  • Identify and assess market trends, emerging needs, and external forces that may impact future business performance
  • Conduct in-depth competitive and customer analyses to understand local dynamics and uncover opportunities for differentiation
  • Partner with regional R&D teams to develop and validate business cases for new product launches and innovative formulations
  • Degree qualified in a technical discipline (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry); MBA preferred
  • Proven experience leading regional or global business units within the pharmaceutical, consumer health, or personal care sectors - ideally with exposure to vaccines, adjuvants, and novel excipients
  • Strong track record of developing and executing business strategies focused on both organic and inorganic growth
  • A proven people leader with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire regional teams while influencing global stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of customer expectations and market dynamics, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with R&D and manufacturing to meet those needs
  • A leadership style grounded in authenticity, inclusion, and alignment with Croda's mission and values
  • Demonstrated strength in data analytics, continuous improvement, and challenging the status quo to drive innovation across commercial functions
