About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a Business Development Team Lead who is responsible for leading and developing a small sales team while directly managing a portfolio of customer accounts. This role ensures that the team operates with clear objectives, measurable KPIs, and disciplined execution of commercial processes. The Sales Supervisor provides hands-on coaching, sets priorities, and drives accountability to achieve both team and individual performance targets. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Sales Supervisor maintains direct account ownership, working with key customers to secure new business, expand existing relationships, and ensure overall satisfaction. By combining team leadership with account responsibility, this role plays a central part in driving growth, aligning performance to company goals, and embedding a culture of commercial excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Typically, around 10-15 years' B2B sales/account management with sales management experience
  • Testing, metallurgical or composites experience a plus
  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements
  • Strong ability to analyse sales data, identify trends and make evidence-based recommendations
  • Confident working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Proven commercial leadership experience
  • Strong coaching and performance management skills
  • Commercially sharp
  • Data driven
  • Emotionally intelligent

  • Experience in testing, metallurgical or composites

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support sales team members in achieving their goals
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews
  • Provide guidance on account strategies, proposals, and negotiations
  • Build a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure accurate CRM usage and reporting across the team
  • Monitor and report on team pipeline activity and forecasting accuracy
  • Provide market and customer feedback to senior leadership and marketing
  • Participate in sales meetings, planning, and coordination activities
