About The Position

The Client Group is one of AB's largest strategic business units, with functions that range considerably throughout the firm. The program will ultimately expose the intern to the lifecycle of an investment product, from the initial generation of the idea to researching interest in the marketplace to crafting our message and finally, distributing our products and servicing our Institutional and Retail clients. The Business Development Summer Intern will assist a team focused on Equity, Fixed Income, or Multi-asset business development. Interns who excel and receive a return offer will enter the Client Group Rotational Program. This program allows rotations through the Business Development teams for the three asset classes mentioned, as well as the Product Strategy and Development team. Business Development : a conduit to the firm's investment teams and supports our clients and internal business partners through investment-platform and product content, messaging, competitive analysis, and education. Successful business development teams serve as the client expert to the investment group and the investment expert to the client (sales) group. Product Strategy & Development designs, develops and manages the firm's global lineup of investment services, and considers clients' evolving needs to identify new opportunities The Client Group Summer Internship Program provides students with opportunities to learn about business development, client service, sales, and specific strategies we offer to clients, as well as the opportunity to develop their communication, networking, and problem-solving skills. This is offered through a firm-wide onboarding program, ongoing training, informal and formal mentoring programs, sessions with senior leaders, networking, and social events. Build an understanding of our firm's mission and values as well as product offerings in the respective distribution channels Initial training is both formal instruction and on-the-job, and includes broad capital markets, AB products, services, procedures and policies

Requirements

  • Candidates should be top academic performers, be interested in the investment management industry and meet the following criteria:
  • Spring 2027 Bachelor's degree candidates in business, finance, economics, data science, math, liberal arts, or similar program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Eligible to work in the US, without sponsorship
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player and self-starter
  • Client-focused with a high degree of professionalism, motivation, and initiative
  • Interest and intellectual curiosity in learning about all aspects of the retail investment management business and capital markets
  • Experience demonstrating attention to detail as well as a foundational understanding of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time from June through August.
  • It is not permissible to simultaneously take academic classes or hold other employment that will conflict with the internship schedule.
  • Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a thorough background check.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitive analysis for the team to generate data for our clients to use to monitor and adjust investments
  • Create sales messaging around macroeconomic, asset class and sector, and competitive factors to facilitate sales conversations
