About The Position

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the residential treatment center and the community, including referral sources, healthcare professionals, local organizations, and potential clients. This role involves outreach, education, and engagement efforts to promote the center’s services, support admissions, and enhance the facility’s reputation in the community.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, marketing, communications, or a related field (master’s preferred).
Experience in community outreach, marketing, healthcare, or social services, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of addiction treatment, mental health services, and the healthcare system.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM software, and social media platforms.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the community.
Good understanding of general business procedures, including sales and marketing, and operations,
Good writing skills required for presentation and preparation of accurate oral and well written summaries
Ability to produce effective and clear communication, both written and verbal
Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in fields relating to business administration, business management, or related field
Current TB test
Valid driver's license
Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with local healthcare providers, hospitals, social service agencies, schools, and community organizations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for referral sources and community partners.
Represent the treatment center at community events, health fairs, conferences, and networking meetings.
Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of the center’s programs and services.
Conduct presentations and educational sessions about substance use disorders, mental health treatment, and available resources.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, social media content, and community engagement campaigns.
Assist potential clients and their families in understanding treatment options and navigating the admissions process.
Work closely with the admissions team to ensure a smooth transition for clients referred from community partners.
Provide follow-up and support to referral sources regarding client progress and outcomes.
Advocate for mental health and addiction recovery resources within the community.
Develop partnerships with local leaders to support initiatives aimed at improving mental health and addiction treatment access.
Stay informed about industry trends, policy changes, and best practices related to residential treatment.
Make weekly appointments with potential new referral sources and document outcome of those meetings
Make monthly appointments with existing referral sources to maintain relationships and document outcome of those meetings
Maintain report of all incoming and outbound referrals
Maintain expense reports
Identify industry events, and in-service opportunities for organization
Assess financial projections and business plans of the organization
Evaluate the business expansion needs and start-up for the company, especially when there is push into new business environments
Make recommendations to management regarding necessary changes to company policies that can affect admissions
Work together with members of staff of the organization in promoting company’s values and ethics
Get involved in all projects of the organization for the accomplishment of company’s strategies and goals
Get involved in meetings involving the business development team of organization
Make prompt report to management regarding customers’ response to company’s products
Other duties may be assigned.
