About The Position

EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is a specialized division of EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, focusing on cutting-edge energy solutions for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. The company is looking for individuals passionate about these industries to join an innovative, dynamic team. Certain positions at EnerSys Advanced Systems require access to information or technology subject to ITAR and other U.S. government security regulations, requiring candidates to be a “U.S. Person” or comply with ITAR requirements. The Business Development Specialist will coordinate EAS business development, pricing efforts, and proposal submissions, specifically for Aerospace & Defense and Commercial Markets related to thermal batteries, liquid reserve batteries, development programs, and government-funded projects. This role involves close collaboration with program management, finance, legal, and engineering to ensure compliant and timely proposal submissions, support program costing/pricing, and maintain positive customer relationships. The position has direct contact with customers, business unit leadership, and corporate executives, playing a contributing role in decision-making for EAS business. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of compliance and/or government contracting experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend defense industry proposals, procedures, FAR/DFAR clauses, and government contracts.
  • Comfortable writing multi-volume proposals and coordinating technical input.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of FAR 15 and 52 (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate sales for liquid reserve, thermals, and development programs to support the Munitions business and other EAS entities.
  • Review Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and other solicitations for alignment with corporate goals and prepare proposal strategy and workflows to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and establish relationships with the U.S. Government and key DoD Prime contractors (i.e. Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, etc). Work to create connections between key customers, EAS management, and the EnerSys executive team.
  • Manage proposal compliance, maintain pricing targets, ensure on-time proposal submissions.
  • Maintain a 5-year strategic plan and business roadmap.
  • Work with program management to establish consistent customer messaging related to all compliance related communications.
