About The Position

MarketStar is hiring a Business Development Representative to represent our MailChimp client, a world-class business marketing tool in the North American Market. This role will be based in our office in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about the channel, cutting edge and emerging technology, and is ready to join a successful and fast-growing sales program at MarketStar. As a BDR, you will have the opportunity to be part of a super interesting journey, at the forefront of the latest emerging technology, with the number one player in space. You will be responsible for creating a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities that can contribute to Mailchimp’s partner growth and success. As the first point of contact, you will play a key role in building the brand, creating a great first impression and building momentum for Mailchimp to onboard a new partner.

Requirements

  • Strong desire for a career in sales.
  • 2+ years of business development experience; B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to confidently and quickly build trust within the first call, with skills to drive impact on the spot.
  • Exceptional listening skills combined with the ability to synthesize information.
  • Good time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with a demonstrated ability to follow through.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Salesforce experience preferred but not essential.
  • A constant drives to improve, proactively seeking coaching and guidance from peers and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Create sales-qualified opportunities by engaging with prospected partners/agencies, showcasing Mailchimp’s partner program in the North American market.
  • Deliver Mailchimp’s partner program criteria and differentiators to partners in the channel.
  • Source opportunities on your own initiative as well as from qualified lead lists.
  • Qualify and handover sales ready opportunities to Partner Development Managers.
  • Create lasting and beneficial relationships with Mailchimp stakeholders.
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.
  • Engage with prospective customers by phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a product and service advocate for the client, building interest and awareness of the client’s value proposition and assessing mutual fit.
  • Learn quickly and maintain current, comprehensive knowledge of clients’ products and services.
  • Other applicable duties as assigned.
