About The Position

We're building healthcare tech for a system that desperately needs it. Each year, millions of Americans deal with confusing changes to their Medicare plans that impact their prescriptions, access to care, and pocketbooks. These aren’t just inconveniences – they are potentially life-altering changes that leave seniors medically and financially vulnerable. Independent Medicare advisors play a crucial role in guiding seniors through this complexity and helping them find the right coverage for their needs. But their ability to be effective healthcare advocates has long been hamstrung by broken tools and outdated systems. Spark is fixing that. We’re the fastest-growing Medicare platform in the country, combining AI, an industry-leading CRM, and client services to transform how 8,000+ brokers acquire, enroll, and support clients in their local communities. Join a talent-dense team from Square, Ramp, Yext, Oscar, and Cedar — backed by Primary Ventures and Viewpoint Ventures — that is serious about building technology to expand access to quality healthcare. We offer remote work, sabbaticals, company retreats, and other generous benefits that earned us recognition as one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces of 2025 Healthcare is overdue for innovation. Let’s redefine what its future looks like — together. Summary Spark is looking to bring on its first-ever Business Development Representative (BDR) to help build and scale our top-of-funnel motion - including outbound, inbound follow-up, and campaign-driven prospecting - in close partnership with Revenue Operations and Demand Generation. This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and can manage competing priorities across teams. You’ll sit at the intersection of Sales, RevOps, and Marketing — generating pipeline, supporting cleaner data and processes, and helping shape how Spark approaches outbound demand generation. This role is ideal for a self-starter and go-getter who enjoys building alongside others rather than working in a silo. Given the current needs of the business, we are looking for candidates in the Denver, CO, Austin, TX, Washington, DC, or New York, NY areas.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in a BDR/SDR or prospecting-focused role, with hands-on responsibility for outbound outreach (calls, emails, video, and/or social)
  • Comfort initiating conversations with new prospects and energized by outbound prospecting, follow-up, and re-engagement
  • Experience qualifying leads and setting meetings that convert to pipeline
  • Strong judgment around prioritization — knows how to focus effort on the right accounts, messages, and moments
  • Bias for action with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and imperfect systems while still driving consistent execution
  • Clear, confident communicator who can collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, and Marketing
  • Organized and self-directed; able to manage competing inputs without needing constant direction
  • Excited by the opportunity to help build and shape Spark’s first BDR motion, not just inherit a playbook

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working closely with Marketing or Demand Gen teams

  • Startup or early-stage environment experience
  • Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM familiarity

  • Work a mix of outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up and warm leads from campaigns, events, and community-driven programs.
  • Partner closely with RevOps and Marketing Ops to support lead flow, targeting, and data hygiene
  • Provide real-time feedback to Marketing on lead quality, messaging, and conversion
  • Manage competing priorities across prospecting, operational asks, and experimentation
  • Help identify process gaps and improvement opportunities across the GTM funnel
  • Operate with autonomy while collaborating deeply across functions
