About The Position

At UPLIFT Desk, we’re not just building ergonomic workstations—we’re shaping how people work and live. As the ecommerce industry leader in height-adjustable desks, we’ve grown by delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions that promote health, productivity, and well-being. Our success is rooted in our core values: Customer Obsession, Innovation, Accountability, and Results Orientation. We're looking for a highly-motivated, proactive Business Development Representative with a strong track record of successful lead generation and pipeline building. This is a high activity, performance-driven role focused on creating new opportunities and initiating relationships with prospective customers. You will be responsible for managing the earliest stages of the sales process—from initial prospecting and sequence creation to securing qualified meetings. While this is primarily a desk-bound, in-office role, you may be required to occasionally travel into the field for in-person visits to key prospects. The right candidate will be assertive, data-driven, collaborative, and customer-focused, with strong fluency in CRM and ERP tools like HubSpot and NetSuite, as well as prospecting tools like Apollo and LinkedIn.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant sales development, lead generation, or customer facing experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with lead sourcing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, specifically HubSpot, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Demonstrated success managing the prospecting stages of the sales cycle, with a special emphasis on creating effective outbound email sequences and executing cold-calling campaigns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in engaging prospects over the phone, via email, and during occasional in-person visits.
  • Assertiveness, proactiveness and persistence to effectively secure meetings and meet lead-generation targets.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple prospecting campaigns, prioritize tasks, and execute timely follow-ups simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetSuite Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
  • Prior sales experience in a growth-oriented e-commerce or furniture company.
  • Experience establishing relationships with corporate, educational, and governmental institutions.
  • Strong understanding of ergonomics or workplace wellness products

Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and generate new sales opportunities using Apollo, LinkedIn, and HubSpot to build a robust pipeline for the Sales Account Management team.
  • Create, execute, and monitor outbound email sequences, ensuring all inbound and outbound leads receive timely and consistent follow-up.
  • Conduct daily cold-calling and phone outreach to qualify prospects, while occasionally traveling into the field for in-person visits as required by the territory strategy.
  • Leverage tools such as HubSpot to effectively manage sales pipelines and report performance metrics regarding open rates, response rates, and meetings booked.
  • Continuously refine outreach strategies and messaging techniques to maximize meeting booked rates.
  • Build and Maintain positive and productive relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads to Account Managers.
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions internally and externally, fostering strong initial touchpoints for long-term customer relationships.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established lead generation and meeting quotas.
  • Stay abreast of current developments in the marketplace, seeking and seizing opportunities for new relationships.
  • Provide regular prospecting reports, insights, and strategic recommendations to sales leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Generous paid time off
  • 4% 401K company matching with instant vesting (after one year)
  • Excellent group health insurance available to employees and dependents, including domestic partners (medical plan, 2 dental plans, and a vision plan to choose from)
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) for health care and child care costs
