About The Position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) at BMC Software plays a crucial role in driving new revenue by uncovering and developing quality sales pipelines in collaboration with the field sales organization. This position focuses on engaging with new and existing customers, executing follow-ups on inbound leads, and utilizing various communication channels to establish dialogues with prospects. The BDR is expected to embrace ongoing training and development while integrating their previous experiences into building a successful tech sales career.

Requirements

  • Exposure to a technical selling environment or previous business development/sales experience.
  • Possess natural business acumen, curiosity, and resilience as a creative problem solver.
  • Ability to be a strong storyteller with examples of previous unique achievements.
  • Exposure to core technical business tools such as Microsoft Suite with CRM; technical curiosity is a MUST.
  • Discipline, grit, and resilience to commit to consistent prospecting best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work jointly with the Field Sales Team to research accounts and business personas, build a territory plan, and reach out to customers to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Execute follow-up on inbound leads with urgency and find paths into companies via outbound prospecting.
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to establish dialogue with new prospects through phone, email, LinkedIn messaging, and LinkedIn Videos.
  • Embrace ongoing enablement and training to better understand the technology industry and the verticals served.
  • Exhibit authentic curiosity and coachability in all tasks.
  • Integrate learnings from previous professional experience into building a thriving tech sales career.
  • Share successful best practices across a diverse, global Digital Sales Team.
