PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento. The Business Development Division focuses on how to maximize the Northern California Territory in revenue opportunities and sustainable market share growth, by engaging all customer segments, tracking industry trends, identifying new business opportunities, anticipating market direction, and aligning our strategies to market conditions and consumers. The Business Development Representative will report directly to the Division President and be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth for Pitco Foods. They will develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new customers and grow existing accounts, working closely with the sales and marketing teams. The Business Development Representative will monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Their focus will be on optimizing the use of each individual warehouse and delivering exceptional customer service to drive customer loyalty and repeat business.

  • Provides leadership and direction for the division that handles all Business Development for Pitco Foods.
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision of all Business Development Representatives, establishing goals and objectives, measuring performance, and ensuring an effective, customer-oriented service level is attained.
  • Analyzes market trends and prepares quarterly reports for each division which is reported back to the Division President.
  • Interfaces with customers to ensure customer service, build relationships, develop business opportunities and gather market intelligence.
  • Facilitates collaborative business practice improvements and educational meetings.
  • Trains and mentors' staff; provides leadership with respect to career development.
  • Plans, supervises and allocates resources.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Public or Business Administration, Maritime Transportation, or a closely related field is required.
  • A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
