About The Position

Harrison Contracting Company is a commercial painting contractor known for its reliability, experience and diligence. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and expanding market presence within the commercial painting industry. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive business development and marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a professional office setting and collaborate in person with internal teams for strategy sessions, project coordination, and client presentations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must consent to periodic MVR checks as a condition of employment and continued eligibility for driving responsibilities to ensure compliance with company insurance and safety standards.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Random drug testing may be conducted in accordance with company policy and applicable federal and state laws.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of business development experience in commercial painting, construction or related industry.
  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue targets.
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment is required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around job sites as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, safety harnesses, gloves, and protective clothing when visiting job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Paint Projex for project management, estimating, and scheduling tasks is a plus
  • Associates Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in construction or painting industry accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Division Manager and Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, new markets, and growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate closely with the Division Manager to ensure alignment with divisional goals and strategies.
  • Assist Division Manager in the development and implementation of strategic plans to penetrate target markets and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HCC potential customers, general contractors, property managers, and key decision-makers.
  • Manage the full business development cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Work closely with the Pre-Construction and Operations teams to ensure accurate pricing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with internal departments to maintain consistent messaging and branding.
  • Provide input and initiate requests for marketing campaigns; collaborate with the Marketing team and Division Manager to ensure execution.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand visibility.
  • Track and report on business development metrics, including pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and manage budgets for business development and marketing initiatives.
