About The Position

The Business Development Officer is responsible for sourcing and developing new business for the bank within an assigned sales territory. This role involves analyzing the needs of prospects and providing information about the bank's products and services that can enhance their financial position. The officer must follow the bank's segmentation policy and collaborate with Relationship Managers and Team Leaders across various business units when closing deals and implementing banking services. The position requires interaction with bank colleagues to discuss prospects and referrals, as well as formulating sales strategies. All calling activity must be documented in the myCNB system, and reports must be provided to management in a timely manner. Compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (Safe Act) is mandatory, and the officer must be registered or able to register under the Safe Act.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial banking experience.
  • Minimum 3 years sales and marketing experience.
  • Must be in good standing under the Safe Act and registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform prospect development activities in assigned territory.
  • Develop and close relationships with prospects to increase new business acquisition.
  • Achieve specific annual production targets and revenue goals assigned by management.
  • Track and communicate results as requested.
  • Document and record all sales activities in the designated reporting system (myCNB).
  • Call on prospective clients to identify their needs and match them with appropriate products/services.
  • Cultivate referral sources through community involvement and civic activities.
  • Work with management to plan business development opportunities.
  • Maintain limited personal contact with new customers and collaborate with relationship managers.
  • Pass off prospects to Relationship Managers after closing deals.
  • Interact with bank colleagues to discuss prospects and formulate sales strategies.
  • Make ongoing calls to develop referral sources and obtain new business opportunities.
  • Leverage business opportunities by including internal sales partners for cross-selling.
