The Business Development Officer is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Small Business Administration (SBA) customer relationships, including business development, risk management, operations, underwriting, and relationship management. This role involves originating SBA loans, equipment leasing, and Asset-Based Lending (ABL) financing transactions for small businesses nationwide. The officer will develop and cultivate relationships with customers and brokers who market directly to small business owners, utilizing networking and referrals to generate business leads and identify potential small business owner borrowers. Additionally, the officer will develop and expand market penetration in assigned locations and markets, demonstrating the value of the Bank’s entrepreneurial lending philosophy and its ability to serve the needs of small business owners nationwide. The role also includes developing marketing and sales strategies in collaboration with the Chief Business Development Officer and the Bank’s marketing group, generating leads, developing completed financing applications, submitting loan packages to underwriting, and presenting loan credits to the Credit Committee. The officer will recognize target market credit opportunities and present funding solutions, obtain customer-signed commitments after loan approval, and coordinate the funding of transactions with the Bank’s Operations Group, all while achieving annual production goals. Active use of Salesforce and other supporting origination systems to help deal flow is expected.
