We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated individual with strong service, outside sales operational, and skills to join our dynamic team as a Business Development Officer. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving organizational growth through relationship management and business development of the schools, community colleges, universities, businesses, and associations located within an assigned market. The Business Development Officer is responsible for increasing brand awareness and keeping Educational Systems FCU top of mind in the assigned market. Managing business level relationships with key contacts and key program leaders at individual school locations, individual community college and university campuses, businesses, and associations. The Business Development Officer will implement plans to meet targeted goals, which supports the Credit Union's annual Business Development Plan that includes the independent development and implementation of strategies and tactics such as providing financial education, attending school and community events to reach employees, parents and students to drive sales goals. This is an outside sales position. The incumbent's home location is Easton, MD. The market territory is Maryland's Eastern Shore. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, to include early mornings, occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years business development/sales experience required.
  • Ability to function in a non-traditional environment - primarily off-site locations.
  • Must be able to meet applicable qualification and background check, identification requirements for the school system, community colleges, universities, businesses and associations in Maryland.
  • Must be able to be registered on the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry as a Mortgage Loan Originator.
  • Proficiency in public speaking required and excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to travel to off-site locations.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds, sit for long periods of time and use a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Highly motivated and self-starter.
  • Knowledge of prospecting principles, processes and skills; ability to identify and engage potential prospects in the market.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing or related area preferred
