About The Position

The Business Development Manager (outside sales) is responsible for successfully managing all elements of their assigned territory to meet/exceed territory goals, partner with customers to help grow their business and increase market penetration. This role is responsible for growing the territory through new business and recovering lost business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in New Business Development and sourcing new customers
  • Ability to bring on new business.
  • Ability to meet/exceed sales volume targets.
  • Successfully able to transition new customers to Account Managers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to identify deficiencies, troubleshoot effectively, and implement solutions.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet/exceed goals for their assigned territory.
  • Aggressively develops new business through the CSMI sales process.
  • Performs ongoing market analysis of the competition, their offerings, and market penetration.
  • Understands barriers for growth in territory and proposes corrective actions to address the barriers.
  • Maintains an in-person presence in the market, visiting prospects, competition, and job sites.
  • Trains customers on product specifications, marketing materials, online tools, sales techniques, and product installation before hand-off to Account Management Team.
  • Gathers market intelligence for pricing decisions.
  • Develops the beginning of the customer relationship with Central States, and assists in transitioning the bulk of the relationship to the Account Manager. The BDM can still maintain a relationship with the customer, but the primary responsibility will rest with the account manager.
