About The Position

The Business Development Manager – Value Added Solutions at RS Group is responsible for supporting and driving sales by aligning activities behind sales strategies and objectives through joint account planning with sales teams. The role involves providing insights into Value Added Solutions to drive channel compliance and sales growth, coaching field sales teams, and ensuring seamless integration with corporate sales strategies. The manager will evaluate account performance, qualify customer readiness for RS Solutions, and maintain a consultative approach to build value in the customer's mind. The position also requires effective utilization of internal resources, identification of growth opportunities, and understanding customer needs to inform product management. The role is focused on the profitable growth of the Americas business, particularly in expanding RS brand recognition through Value-Added Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or 5-7 years in business development.
  • Ability to think broadly and in an agile way.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Recognition that ‘attitude’ is key to success, consisting of openness, curiosity, confidence, enthusiasm, tenacity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to develop and set your own agenda and work independently.

  • Positive sales mindset and belief in the RS sales strategy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of MRO procurement strategy, eProcurement, Maintenance or Inventory solutions.
  • Experience of solution-based sales techniques.
  • Experience within a multi-site distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the profitable growth of the Americas business with a specific focus on expansion of RS brand recognition development through Value-Added Services.
  • Support the success of sales strategies by aligning activity behind them to drive them forwards.
  • Use deep understanding of RS Value Proposition to effectively protect and grow revenue.
  • Take ownership of Value-Added Solutions projects within accounts and actively drive business through adding demonstrable value to customers.
  • Ownership for the creation of business strategies to drive solutions performance.
  • Proactively own and drive pipeline ensuring biggest and best opportunities are landed through joint planning with Sales Teams.
  • Drive services business strategy and ensure activities are aligned behind this.
  • Planning of all resources.
  • Support sales capability with respect to services offer by mentoring and coaching teams.
  • Accountability for customer data integrity and protecting data confidentiality.
  • Deliver through all levels of contacts in Procurement, Finance, Production and Operations.
  • Raise the level of business conversation to Senior Management.
