About The Position

ECS's Environmental team is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the pursuit of large-scale remediation projects. The role involves working directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
  • 3 or more years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation estimating, or proposal development
  • Familiarity with price estimating, proposal preparation, lead generation, and bid site search optimization
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills
  • Ability to interpret specifications and translate them into actionable proposal and cost documents
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; proven ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); estimating or proposal software a plus
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills across technical and business development staff

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies
  • Prepare and develop technical proposals and cost estimates under the direction of technical staff
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department to track and prepare RFP proposal responses
  • Review local office proposal activity to identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Attend industry associations, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients
  • Maintain and update project sheets, resumes, and client databases
  • Review project specifications and prepare preliminary cost estimates for remediation systems, treatment design, tank removal, and other ECS remediation services
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to ensure estimates reflect accurate scope and approach
  • Support development of pricing strategies that align with project requirements
  • Monitor bid sites and market intelligence for remediation opportunities
  • Coordinate internally with service line leaders and project managers to qualify and prioritize pursuits
  • Assist in maintaining client and project databases for business development tracking
