About The Position

Position is responsible for developing new business and promoting company expansion through relationship building and various marketing strategies. Duties include: targeting new client base; enhancing existing relationships; developing business and marketing plans, will partner with the Marketing dept. to create marketing materials, assist with the development of company advertisement, creating marketing brochures and newsletters; preparing press releases; developing and giving client presentations; maintaining client and industry contact databases; serving as liaison to local business and industry associations; and, acting as company spokesperson. Responsible for supporting and promoting DSC culture through effective Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA). The Business Development Manager is a stand-alone classification which is distinguished from other classes by its responsibility for developing new business and implementing marketing strategies.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) standards.
  • Travel will be required for client meetings, presentations, and tradeshows.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field with a minimum of five years’ sales and/or marketing experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Implements strategies for targeting new client base and enhancing existing relationships including making initial contacts, sending correspondence, giving presentations, providing entertainment, and supplying company information to prospective clients.
  • Conceptualizes and builds marketing brochures and flyers; prepares mailings to clients and industry contacts; and maintains database of new and existing customers and industry contacts with the Marketing Manager.
  • Recommends donation of funds where appropriate; and selects and purchases promotions for presenting to prospective clients.
  • Develops business and marketing plans for specific office area (with the Director of Business Development.
  • Takes digital photos of projects for insertion into marketing pieces; prints photos when needed; and maintains photos in a database.
  • Attends Chamber of Commerce functions and Business and Industry luncheons; works with Economic Development Committee on city branding; acts as company representative for Master Builders’ Institute (MBI)/American General Contractors (AGC); and serves as company spokesperson for the Nebraska/Iowa Region.
  • Will assist with the Marketing department on templates for client presentations.
  • Performs additional duties assigned to support project and organizational success.
  • Partners closely with the Marketing department to develop and coordinate RFQ/RFP responses for both public and private project opportunities, including gathering project information, drafting content, and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Collaborates with project managers and internal teams to collect relevant data, project highlights, and qualifications to support compelling and competitive proposal materials.
  • Maintains and updates the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for the Omaha office, ensuring accuracy of client information, project opportunities, and business development activities.
  • Works with the Project Management team to regularly review and update CRM data, ensuring current project statuses, contacts, and pipeline opportunities are accurately reflected.
