Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in government contracting, construction, engineering, or infrastructure
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive attitude with a desire to grow into senior business development responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with local government procurement processes (RFPs/RFQs) is a plus
  • Experience supporting or collaborating on proposals or bids is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, target, and win contracts with Houston-area local government agencies
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in city and municipal government
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities while maintaining a robust sales pipeline
  • Lead proposal preparation and submission to meet government procurement requirements (RFPs/RFQs)
  • Manage contract negotiations and closings, ensuring favorable terms and compliance
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth contract-to-project transitions
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Travel locally as needed to meet clients and attend industry events
