About The Position

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a Business Development Manager within our Digital Solutions team, focused on the Colorado, Arizona and Nevada markets. This position will:•    Develop, maintain, and manage Orica’s Blast Design & Execution US business.•    Increase Orica’s digital product market share and achieve financial growth targets including winning and maintaining existing digital sales for both Orica and competitor held customers.•    Provide strategy and guidelines to NA region for the development and growth of Digital Solutions business, based on the general guidelines provided by the needs of the business and the overall business Strategy.What you will be doing

Requirements

  • Willing and able to travel up to 50%
  • Mining degree and/or experience in the mining industry
  • Experience in mining specifically in digital technology (software, information systems, communication systems, navigation systems)
  • Experience in selling technology products in the mining industry
  • Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character
  • Builds the trust of others both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate innate business intellect and acumen, achievement orientation and competitive spirit

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to Orica’s Safe Operating Procedures and demonstrating visible leadership by undertaking safety audits, leadership interactions within the business and contributing that any current or new product is operated on a safe way while foreseeing risks and creating plans to minimize those.
  • Lead US’s B&DE business to achieve financial targets through development and maintenance of customer relationships with decision makers: technical users, influencers, financial decision makers, and others
  • Constantly analyze US Market to understand trends and opportunities, providing input during the development of the annual Budget.
  • Detecting new opportunities in products and services to be commercialized aimed at market share increase and margin maximization
  • Lead the introduction of new technologies in the region, by coordinating multi-functional teams, leading customer interactions as required
  • Lead and define pricing strategy for Digital Solutions in US, understanding customer needs, aiming to maximize margins within the region
  • Maintain monthly dashboard report outlining wins/losses, key project focus, opportunity progress/status/next steps for US region.
  • Understand the competitor landscape, Next Best Alternative pricing and identify where our current Value Drivers align to commercial accounts needs. Provide intelligence to assist the global function to understand where to best focus business resources/time to develop future offerings.
  • Leveraging Orica’s digital capabilities to support Business Development Managers, ABMs and Territory Managers in winning existing Orica customer sites, Greenfield projects, Competitor held accounts and new Performance contracts.
  • Monitor Business Development pipeline between regions to enable prioritisation of workload and ensure focus on key strategic target customers.
  • Constantly promote product trials, and ensure that technical product support is in place to demonstrate benefits to customers
  • Identify opportunities for digital offerings as part of the differentiated Orica Services offerings including integrated workflows, Advanced Modelling and Data Science Applications.
