The Commercial Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the commercial sector. This role involves being in the field 80% of the time prospecting, building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding market dynamics, and collaborating cross-functionally to create tailored solutions that meet customer needs and achieve company objectives.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve commercial sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting.
  • Create detailed proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Manage and close high-value contracts while ensuring profitability and compliance.
  • Promotes all COIT services offered through Commercial, Restoration and Residential.
  • Qualify leads independently, conduct site inspections, and present tailored cleaning solutions to prospective clients.
  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan with clear activity and revenue targets.
  • Build and sustain long-term relationships with key commercial clients and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new business accounts.
  • Conduct regular reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Must maintain existing customer base by means of monthly, bi-monthly, or weekly contact of client reporting status to the Supervisor.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to inform strategy.
  • Recommend new product or service offerings to meet emerging market needs.
  • Identify and target high-value sectors and decision-makers within those markets.
  • Partner with marketing, finance, and operations to ensure successful delivery of proposals and contracts.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns, trade shows, and promotional initiatives.
  • Mentor junior sales or business development staff, as needed.
  • Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Present compelling proposals and tenders that address client pain points and highlight service value.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth handover and implementation post-sale.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
  • Maintain accurate pipeline records in CRM systems.
  • Report on sales performance, forecasts, and key metrics to senior leadership.
  • Represents COIT at sales functions including but not limited to trade shows, continuing education classes, lunches, meetings, golf tournaments as well as any other functions as needed
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Maintains effective working relationships and acts in a manner most beneficial to the company.
  • 5+ years in business development, sales, or account management - preferably in a B2B or commercial environment.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Clean driving record and proof of insurance as you will be driving your own vehicle.
  • Be a good ambassador/representative for COIT Services, Inc. This includes wearing appropriate business attire and COIT Identification Badge.
  • Establishes and promotes ethical sales practices.
  • Maintains an acceptable driving record.
